Tour de Taste: A Pedaling Picnic

   Thank you to all participants, supporters and volunteers for making our first ever Tour de Taste a wonderful and tasty success. The Upper Valley Trails Alliance presented a progressive picnic by bicycle along roads through Thetford, Lyme, Orford and Fairlee. The 16 mile, easy to moderate loop, along which participants traveled at their own pace, proceeded over rolling hills and along the picturesque Connecticut River with several "munch" stops along the way (Cedar Circle Farm, Long Wind Farm, Inc., River Valley Farm, Boldo’s, the Whippi Dip, and others) to sample local produce and other special foods. 

   Participants brought their own bike and helmet; and those under 12 years of age were accompanied by and rode with an adult. Donation: $15 per person, $8 under 12; included all food as well as maps and directions. A support van with a mechanic was available during the ride; water and facilities available at each stop.
