Trails Connect Forum – Agenda and Topic List

5:00 – Doors Open

5:15-6:00 – Networking and Food (provided by Boloco)

6:00-6:30 – Opening remarks

6:35-7:15 – Concurrent Sessions (attendees choose one of three sessions to participate in)

•    Trail Ethics and Conflicts - How to use trails responsibly. How to manage conflicting trail uses. Leave no trace. Recreation, wildlife and conservation.  Facilitators: Paul Coats and Vic Henningsen
•    Trail Protections – A discussion of the ways trails can be protected for the long run: Use agreements, trail licenses, trail easements and ROW. Who, how and when to use them. Facilitators: Conrad Reining and JT Horn
•    Hot Topics in Trail Maintenance – Basic rules and new techniques to keep our trails in good shape. Facilitators: John Taylor and Jim Lyall

7:20-8:00 – Concurrent Sessions (attendees choose one of three sessions to participate in)

•    Trail Finder Demonstration – This will be a demo of the website for the end user. Ideally we will be able to use a laptop and projector for the demo. Then a Q and A about Trail Finder. Facilitators: Emma Tutein and Lelia Mellen
•    Community Needs for Trails and Recreation – Attendees can share what they think is still needed in the Upper Valley in terms of trail infrastructure, connectivity, etc. Facilitators: Dan Nelson and Jonathan Frishtick
•    Trail Organization and Manager Needs – Engage with community organizations, trail groups, municipalities, etc. about what they need in terms of planning, workshops and education, resources, equipment, advocacy, and partnerships to get more work done. Facilitators: Adair Mulligan and Matt Stevens
